Lorryto Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 19 August, 2026

1. Introduction

Lorryto ("we", "our", or "us") respects the importance of privacy and is committed to safeguarding the personal and business information of users interacting with our platform and related services, including the Lorryto web platform and the Lorryto Driver mobile application.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information. These practices are intended to be consistent with applicable Indian data-protection law. By using Lorryto or the Lorryto Driver App, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

We may collect information you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Submit demo or support requests.
  • Share transport or business details on platform workflows.
  • Communicate with us via email, phone, or other channels.

The information may include:

  • Full name, email address, phone number, and user role.
  • Company/transport name, business details, and contact information.
  • User/account information and authorized-user details.
  • Driver information and vehicle information entered on the platform.
  • Documents uploaded by customers (including POD and other trip files).
  • Business identifiers including GST and related records (if provided).
  • LR, trip, billing, invoicing, ledger, and payment-related records.
  • Other information reasonably necessary to provide Lorryto services.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access our website or platform, we may collect:

  • IP address, browser type/version, and device information.
  • Operating system, pages viewed, date/time of access.
  • Basic usage and interaction analytics to improve performance and security.

2.3 Location Data (Lorryto Driver App)

When a driver is logged in to the Lorryto Driver mobile application, we collect the device's location at regular intervals (approximately every 5 minutes). This data is collected solely to display the current location of the vehicle the driver is operating, so that the transporter (company) can track vehicle movement in real time.

We do not use driver location data for any personal, advertising, or profiling purpose.

3. How We Use Information

We may process information for purposes such as:

  • Providing and operating Lorryto services.
  • Creating and managing accounts, companies, and users.
  • Managing transport operations, including LR, trip, vehicle, and driver workflows.
  • Processing subscriptions and payments.
  • Providing customer support.
  • Security and fraud prevention.
  • Maintaining application functionality and improving services.
  • Sending important service or account communications.
  • Complying with applicable law and responding to lawful requests from competent authorities.

4. Invoice, LR, and Terms & Conditions

Lorryto provides features to create and manage Lorry Receipts (LR / bilty), invoices, and related transport documents. As part of these workflows, the platform may include fields for terms and conditions that appear on printed or shared LR copies and invoices.

4.1 Default and Market-Standard Wording

Where Lorryto supplies sample or pre-filled terms and conditions for Invoice and LR documents, such wording is intended to reflect terms commonly used in the Indian road transport and logistics market. These are provided only as a starting point or convenience to help transporters configure documents faster. They are not legal advice and may not suit every route, party, cargo type, liability arrangement, or local business practice.

4.2 Your Right to Edit or Delete Terms

As a transporter or account holder using Lorryto, you have full access to review, edit, modify, or delete the terms and conditions (and related clauses) associated with your Invoice and LR templates before they are used on live documents. You are solely responsible for the final text that appears on any LR, bilty, invoice, or other document generated from your account.

4.3 Please Read Carefully Before Use

Because you can change these terms at any time, we strongly recommend that you:

  • Read all terms and conditions carefully before saving templates or issuing LR and invoices to consignors, consignees, brokers, or other parties.
  • Confirm that the wording matches your actual business policies, freight rules, payment terms, liability limits, detention charges, and dispute handling.
  • Seek independent legal or professional advice if you are unsure whether your terms are appropriate for your operations or jurisdiction.
  • Re-check templates after any edit, and avoid relying on outdated or deleted clauses that may still appear on previously issued documents.

4.4 Lorryto’s Role and Limitation

Lorryto is a software platform for transport operations, billing, and record-keeping. We do not draft, endorse, or guarantee the legal effect of any terms and conditions you enter, select, or print through the platform. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lorryto shall not be liable for disputes, claims, losses, or penalties arising from the content of your Invoice or LR terms, including wording you adopted from defaults and later changed—or wording you created entirely on your own.

By continuing to use Invoice and LR features, you acknowledge that you understand this section and accept responsibility for the terms displayed on your business documents.

5. Lorryto Driver App

The Lorryto Driver App is a mobile application used by drivers associated with transport companies registered on Lorryto. This section describes how we handle data specific to the Driver App.

5.1 Location Tracking

While a driver is logged in to the Lorryto Driver App, the app collects the device's GPS location approximately every 5 minutes. This location data is used exclusively to show the transporter (company) the real-time position of the vehicle the driver is operating.

  • Location tracking is only active while the driver is logged in to the app.
  • If the driver logs out of the app, location tracking stops immediately.
  • If the driver uninstalls the app, location tracking stops immediately.
  • We do not track, or use the driver's personal location for advertising, profiling, selling to third parties, or any purpose other than vehicle tracking for the registered transport company.

5.2 Driver Account Management

A driver account is created by the transport company through the Lorryto web panel. The following controls are available to manage driver accounts:

  • Driver self-deletion: A driver can delete their own account directly from the Lorryto Driver App by navigating to their User Profile, scrolling to the bottom, and tapping "Delete Account". The driver must type DELETE to confirm. Upon confirmation, all personal data associated with the driver account will be permanently removed.
  • Company deactivation: The transport company can also deactivate a driver from the Lorryto web panel at any time — for example, if the driver has left the company or is no longer assigned to any vehicle. Deactivation immediately stops all location tracking and revokes the driver's access to the app.

5.3 Data Collected from Drivers

We may collect the following information from drivers through the Lorryto Driver App:

  • Full name and mobile number.
  • Driver license details and other documents (if uploaded by the company or driver).
  • Device GPS location (only while logged in, as described in Section 5.1).
  • Trip-related data such as assigned trips, delivery status, and POD uploads.

5.4 Data Deletion and Retention

When a driver account is deleted (either by the driver or by the company), all personal data — including profile information, trip history, uploaded documents, and location records — will be permanently deleted. Certain data may be retained for up to 30 days for legal, regulatory, or security purposes before being permanently removed from our systems.

For detailed steps on how to delete a driver account, please visit our Account Deletion page.

6. Sharing of Information

Lorryto does not sell, trade, or rent personal information. Data may be shared only in limited cases:

  • Service Providers: Trusted vendors supporting hosting, communication, analytics, or infrastructure.
  • Legal Obligations: Lorryto may disclose or preserve information where required to do so by applicable law, valid legal process, court order, or a lawful request from a competent government or law-enforcement authority. We do not disclose data merely because it is requested, without such a legal basis.
  • Business Changes: During merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of business assets.

7. Data Protection and Security

We implement appropriate technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards, including secure access controls and periodic reviews. While we use industry-standard practices, no digital system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies or similar technologies to:

  • Understand website traffic and usage patterns.
  • Improve navigation, usability, and performance.
  • Support analytics and essential platform functions.

You may configure browser settings to limit cookies; some features may not function as intended.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request:

  • Access to personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion of personal data where legally permissible.
  • Restriction or objection to specific processing where applicable.

Deleting a company account does not necessarily mean every piece of information is immediately erased where Lorryto is required or permitted to retain specific information under applicable law. How to request driver-app deletion versus company-account deletion is explained on the Account Deletion page. Company-level deletion rules are also described in our Terms of Service.

10. Data Retention

The periods below describe Lorryto's operational retention policy. They are not presented as periods that Indian law requires for every dataset. Mandatory legal retention, where it applies, is not overridden by these operational periods.

  • Active paid customer: Data is retained while required to provide the service and for applicable lawful purposes.
  • Paid subscription expired: Company data may be retained for up to 90 days after subscription expiry.
  • Free trial expired without a paid subscription: Company/account data may be retained for up to 30 days after trial expiry.
  • Company deletion requested: Data remains available during the initial 30-day cancellation period, subject to the deletion-process rules in the Terms of Service.
  • After the 30-day deletion-request period: The permanent deletion process begins. Technical deletion may take up to 90 days to complete.
  • Driver App account deletion: Driver personal data is handled as described in Section 5.4 (including a limited post-deletion retention window for legal, regulatory, or security purposes).

Certain information may be retained longer when required or permitted by applicable law or for legitimate purposes such as legal compliance, tax/accounting obligations, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, enforcement of agreements, or responding to lawful government or legal requests.

10.1 Limited Retention After Company Deletion

Following deletion of a company/account, Lorryto may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for lawful purposes, including legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, enforcement of contractual rights, accounting/tax obligations, or responding to lawful requests from competent authorities. Such retained information will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose and retained only for as long as necessary or legally required. Lorryto does not keep a complete deleted customer account indefinitely.

11. Children's Privacy

Lorryto is intended for businesses and professionals. It is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. If such information is identified, we will take reasonable steps to remove it promptly.

12. Updates to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be revised periodically to reflect changes in legal requirements or operational practices. Updated versions will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
